Welcome to my twist on the Top Ten Tuesday Prompt "Books I Really Liked but Can’t Remember Anything/Much About", hosted by Jana @ That Artsy Reader Girl.
Wow, go me. Two Top Ten Tuesdays in a row. I deserve an award, or something.
Today, I will be discussing 10 Amazing Books that I Remember Nothing Of, so if you plan on asking me about them, just know that I have no answers because I don't remember why I like them anymore, just that I did.
1‣ Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo, which I rated 5 stars.
I vaguely remember powers of light and darkness and something to do with the Darkling. And also a character named Nikolai that I really liked and didn't get nearly enough of. I'm also pretty srure I heard that Leigh Bardugo is writing a spin-off series about Nikolai. Super. Duper. Excited. I. Am.
2‣ Falling Kingdoms by Morgan Rhodes, which I rated 4 stars (and the rest of the series was either 4 or 5 star ratings).
I literally remember nothing of the actual plot itself. But what sticks out whenever I try and think back to when I read this book, is the fact that I shipped Magnus and Cleo together from the beginning.
3‣ Snow Like Ashes by Sara Raasch, which I rated 5 stars.
I have no idea what this is about. NO IDEA. Like maybe it was something to do with people having powers that have to deal with winter??? I don't know, but it was good!
4‣ Daughter of the Pirate King by Tricia Levenseller, which I rated 5 stars.
Something about a girl who had a pirate for a father and she is now a pirate herself. And she is the captain? And I think it's something where she lets her ship get captured in order to hi-jack someone else's ship.
5‣ The Young Elites by Marie Lu, which I rated 5 stars.
I definitely remember the main character and how I was confused the whole time on whether or not I thought she was a good person or completely, totally evil. But the plot? No idea what happens.
6‣ Ever the Hunted by Erin Summerill, which I rated 5 stars.
I remember seeing the cover before. But I have no idea what the names of any of the characters are or what they did without looking it up first, which I'm not going to do because that's the whole point of this blog post.
7‣ The Falconer by Elizabeth May, which I rated 4 stars.
This included faeries and cute romance and a sarcastic little pixie named... Derrick, I think? I don't know for sure. But I really liked this story, even if I've read it twice and still don't remember much about it at all.
8‣ The Immortal Rules by Julie Kagawa, which I rated 4 stars.
Vampires.
9‣ The Iron King by Julie Kagawa, which I rated 5 stars.
Faeries. A little bit of romance? A curse? I'm actually not sure about the curse part.
10‣ The Testing by Joelle Charbonneau, which I rated 5 stars.
Intellectual tests that were really cool. A smart and brave main character. Some sinister plot behind it all? Ugh, my memory is awful.
Haha I had Shadow and Bone as well. I don't know what it is about that book but I've seen multiple people mention it.
